construction vs. composition, V2
Recent assignment:
Wine Label for Sonoma County Chardonnay.
The left design is the first one in which I have goal first, which is to express the feeling of white wine. After design a symbol of grape, I use this shape to make a hard cut at he top of the label, to fit the neck label. All the other copies are followed this shape and this is the composition of design.
The right one is the final version in which I just bring copies as 4 pieces of element. Based on my feeling of structure, I move around the elements to construct the design. The final design shows the impact between elements, positive and negative space. The focal point is clear and the structure flowing to lead reader's eye to sub focal point. Also the vertical brand name makes it easy to catch consumer's eye among the others.
